So effective even the Navy Seals use it

It starts with a slow creep.

Then it’s like getting ripped into a raging river.

And before you know it, everything feels out of control.

That’s the feeling of anxiety.

This is a major topic.

One that we felt like was a must to cover for the Confidence series.

Because, well, it’s the biggest open secret many of us struggle with it.

It’s safe to assume that you (like many of us in the EarthsCure community) have gone through bouts of anxiety.

Maybe even prolonged bouts of anxiety.

This is all to say if you personally struggle with anxiety. You’re not alone.

And that’s why today we want to give you a simple breathing technique that you can use to take back control and loosen the grip of anxiety.

It’s simple and it starts to work in less than 60 seconds.

You can use it at home, in your car, at the grocery store–wherever and whenever you need it.

In fact, it’s so effective, the Navy Seals use it to stay calm while under tremendous pressure.

It’s called box breathing.

Here’s how it works.

  1. Inhale for 4 seconds
  2. Hold your breath for 4 seconds
  3. Exhale for 4 seconds
  4. Hold your breath for 4 seconds

By repeating these 4 steps over and over again, you stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system–also known as your rest and digest system.

In fact, a recent study from Harvard showed that box breathing leads to a decrease in the stress hormone cortisol.

In practice, you’ll notice that your heart rate will slow down, the racing fearful thoughts will start to quiet…

And you’ll feel like your calm self again.

Pretty cool, right?

Now, the instructions we gave you above are all you need to get started today.

But we found the easiest way to get started is with this guided box breathing meditation.

It’s free, it’s fun and it only takes 3 minutes.
